The person behind
every edit.

I'm Victoria — a wedding filmmaker based in Ottawa, ON. For the past five years I've been making films for couples in a style that's always been candid and fly-on-the-wall, capturing days exactly as they unfold. I especially love filming in Super 8 for those authentic, nostalgic, perfectly imperfect moments.

As a filmmaker, I can't be everywhere at once — and I hated saying no to lovely couples who wanted to work with me. Rove Films was born out of that. It's an affordable way for couples to capture their day through the eyes of the people who love them most: their guests.

Whether you're pairing it with professional videography or letting your guests carry the whole story, Rove Films gives you a film that feels real. You film, we professionally edit, and you get a perfectly imperfect wedding film that captures your day exactly as it unfolded.

Rove Films ships across Canada. Every kit is packed by me, every edit is reviewed by me, and every film is made with the same care I bring to my own wedding work.

Questions we
actually get asked.

No. The camcorder arrives ready to film out of the box, with guiding stickers on the device and a printed shot list inside. We've designed it so anyone — including your most technophobic relative — can pick it up and start filming. Most couples pass it to one or two trusted guests for the day.
Our editors are experienced with guest footage and know how to work with it. Some shakiness and imperfect lighting is part of the aesthetic — it's what makes it feel real. We'll let you know at booking what to expect, and our shot list helps guide guests toward the right lighting and moments. We set honest expectations upfront.
You'll receive your edited film within 8 weeks of us receiving the kit back. We'll also send you your organized raw footage as soon as the card is processed — usually within a few days of arrival. Rush delivery (7-day turnaround) is available as an add-on for $99.
Yes — we ship anywhere in Canada via Canada Post Xpresspost with tracking and insurance. Kits arrive 3–4 days before your event. Remote areas (Yukon, NWT, Nunavut) may require additional lead time — please mention your location when booking.
A $300 refundable damage deposit is held at booking and returned when the kit arrives back in good condition. Your rental agreement covers accidental damage scenarios in detail.
Absolutely — and many couples do. A Rove Films kit adds a candid, home-video layer to your day that pairs naturally with professional videography. But it works just as well on its own. Hand the camera to someone you trust and let them capture the weekend however feels right — interviews with guests, the getting-ready morning, the dance floor at midnight. The possibilities are entirely yours.
